This time of year, a lot of people start talking about ghosts and spirits. I got thinking about this because our town is having a ghost and historical walk this Saturday and next Saturday. Then I found out that the Civic League Building that the historical society owns was on the tour as an historical site. Since I'm a member of the society, I was happy to hear that it was included.
Yesterday (Saturday), a group of us had been at the building cleaning for an upcoming chicken pileau dinner next Friday, and decorating for Halloween because we plan to hand out candy to the local children. The vice president of the society was joking about walking around in the building with some dim background light to imitate a ghost lurking in the building as the tour came around. It sounded like fun, but then she decided against it.
As it turned out, someone brought more decorations to the building late, so she was there as the first tour arrived. They were so happy that the building was open and that they could go inside to look. She even sold some of the calendars we're selling as a fund raiser to pay for the new roof on the building. After they left, she called and asked me to join her because there would be two more groups that night. So even though I was tired, I went over to keep her company.
Around 7:45 pm, the second tour group arrived and again came inside. As one woman was leaving, she commented that she had seen a group of ladies sitting around the fireplace sewing and chatting and having a wonderful time. There was no one there except myself and my friend! The place were she said she had envisioned these women was the place that women of the Civic League used to gather. The building had originally been petitioned off into a large room, then a room for the men, and a room for the women. I feel that she may have actually seen a vision of these women, but my friend things she just imagined it. We got into a lengthy discussion of spirits.
I would love to hear how you feel about this.

OMG...what an awesome story. I wish I could have been there. I would love to go on a ghost tour. The closest one to us is about 4 hours away. :( The only show I even watch on TV is Ghosthunters. (Have you seen it? It's great!) Maybe you should invite those guys to come check out your place.
Hugs!
I had not even thought about the self striping yarn, that's a good idea. Oh I so want to come go on the tour now! I have watched Hauntings...that's a pretty good show too. Call me crazy but I love that stuff. It's so interesting. Please keep me posted if anything else good happens.
Hugs!
read your comment on aunt kathy's blog... god bless about your neighbor and her family... hopefully the police can find something! A hairbrush or anything... so sad for the family and her!! Keep praying!
Oooh how cool! What a neat story.. I totally believe she may have seen the spirits of these women... I honestly think that those who believe can see... but those who don't just won't...
